We recently picked up some Strawberry Banana Silk Fruit&Protein in the dairy section at Walmart. It has quickly become a family favorite. We don’t normally drink juice, but since we recently went vegetarian at home I love that it has extra protein in it. I worry constantly that my hubby isn’t getting enough protein in his diet since he’s now a full-time vegetarian (I eat meat when we go out, I just eat vegetarian at home to support him).
The Gnome picked out the Strawberry Banana flavor, it was a good choice!
In addition to the Strawberry Banana Fruit&Protein, we grabbed bananas and strawberries to make smoothies! To see our entire trip to Walmart, check out my Google+ story.
Our kitchen is tiny, so I have to keep the blender on top of the fridge. Our blender is awesome, so I was excited for a chance to get it down and use it!
Strawberry, Banana, and Cucumber Smoothie Recipe:
About 1/2 of a banana
About 1 c. of frozen strawberries
About 3″ of a peeled cucumber
1 c. of Strawberry Banana Silk Fruit&Protein
Blend until smooth
The Gnome wasn’t sure what to think of the blender once it got going. Look at that face!
The cucumber smoothies were a huge hit!
I’m so glad to find something with extra protein in it that he enjoys.
I am super excited to try more smoothie recipes with the Silk Fruit&Protein (if my husband doesn’t drink it all first). I will be stalking their Facebook and twitter pages for more fun recipes too. If you try the cucumber, banana, and strawberry recipe – please let me know what you think! I can’t believe how well strawberries and cucumbers compliment each other.
