Welcome to Manic Mommy Monday! Every week we link up blog posts that are updates about us and what is going on in our lives. Everyone is welcome to link up (scroll down to find the linky) and you can find more information on the main Manic Mommy Monday page.
In typical Manic Mommy Monday fashion, there are less than three hours left in Monday and I am just sitting down at my computer for the first time today. I’ll get to my weekend in a bit, but first, I am starting to feel slightly overwhelmed with the blog and the business and all of the social media that goes along with them. And the chickens, and then garden, and the other community responsibilities I have. Oh and cleaning my house, doing laundry, cooking, and so one. I’ve been stepping back a bit, because I need to. Because of this:
I need, I want to spend my days with this little guy. I don’t want to constantly have my iPhone in my hand. I don’t want to give him half of my attention. I want to fully focus on my son. At all times. So, I’ve been working on that. It ain’t easy. And I do feel stress to get blog posts written, check emails, or catch up on Facebook. But, I know what’s important. So I’m sticking to it. You may see less blog posts from me, just know that that means I’m spending more time with my little guy.
(I won’t ever step back from my blog responsibilities, like posts with deadlines, or from anything Gnome’s Naturals related. I will always be available for business.)
We got the chicken coop finished! Mostly. It still needs to be painted, but that’s not a huge deal. We were able to move the chickens out of the garage and into the coop and that was my goal for this weekend. They love their coop!
Now we just need to get 7 fruit trees and 2 raised beds worth of veggies planted before I leave for Chicago next week. Should be a piece of cake! Or not. But it has to be done. Our poor Japanese Eggplant plant (umm, eggplant plant?) is already producing eggplants. Big ones!
It needs a home. Anyway, on Saturday we finished the coop. On Sunday morning I had a nursing session done by Stefani Marcus Photography (check her stuff out, she’s amazing!), then I had lunch with the girls sans baby (he went on a lunch date with his daddy, and then we went to a 2nd birthday party in the afternoon. After the birthday party, we made it home just in time to get rid of our houseguest (Maverick the dog) and for The Gnome’s bed time.
What’s one more dog when you already have 4???
I spent the majority of today catching up on house stuff, met a customer for lunch, had another customer stop by (inspiring me to actually clean the house), and generally just avoiding my overflowing inboxes from taking the weekend off. I was going to tackle those tonight but it’s 9:45pm and it looks like it will be tomorrow. But hey, my house is clean, the raised garden beds are started, we have the hole dug for the nectarine tree (it got dark before we could plant it), The Gnome is snug in his bed, the chickens are happy in their coop, three of my dogs are piled around my feet, I have a glass of wine in my hand and a chihuahua on my lap, all in all I would say that it’s been a good day.
How was your weekend??? If you enjoy reading about The Gnome & his family, like us on Facebook, add us on Google+, and follow us on twitter! While you’re at it… check out our Networked Blogs box in the right sidebar!
