It’s Almost Done! – Manic Mommy Monday 16
Welcome to Manic Mommy Monday! Every week we link up blog posts that are updates about us and what is going on in our lives. Everyone is welcome to link up (scroll down to find the linky) and you can find more information on the main Manic Mommy Monday page.
As usual, it was a crazy hectic weekend in The Gnome’s house! We were dog sitting Mav Dog (he belongs to our friends the Shelbys) again this weekend so we had five dogs roaming around. On Saturday, Hubby got off of work early and we drove about an hour and 15 minutes to go to our nephew’s pirate-themed birthday party.
The Gnome had a blast running around like a crazy pirate and eating lots of junky food. He even tried ranch dressing for the first time (gag- I have a serious grudge against kids eating ranch dressing and hopefully that will never happen again).
On Sunday we got up early and made chicken feeders out of buckets that we scavenged from the bakery at the grocery store. Free = good!
Then Hubby & I wrote a blog post/letter to our friends and family about why we’re becoming minimalist (or trying to). It seems as though by getting rid of a lot of our “stuff,” we managed to hurt at least one person’s feelings so we wanted to be as up front as possible and let everyone know that it isn’t about them, it’s about us. The letter is posted over at Bringing Back the Village if you’re interested.
And, and, and!!! Hubby started painting the bathroom! It is almost finished. Finally. We only started working on it in January. All we have left is to finish the painting and install the stupid shower door that has been a nightmare. We didn’t get to finish painting because we had to leave to go to Hubby’s dad’s house for Father’s Day. We had a great time and (much to his vegetarian father’s chagrin), The Gnome LOVED the ribs!
I was planning on getting my Manic Mommy Monday post up early this morning but The Gnome’s BFF and his mommy came over to play and then my friend from high school and her son stopped by so we had an impromptu play date. The Gnome decided he wanted to nurse mid-play date and he passed out, effectively ending all of the festivities!
And here we are.
