Farewell, Our Feathered Friend – Manic Mommy Monday 17
Welcome to Manic Mommy Monday! Every week we link up blog posts that are updates about us and what is going on in our lives. Everyone is welcome to link up (scroll down to find the linky) and you can find more information on the main Manic Mommy Monday page.
Hey y’all! Another manic weekend at the Gnomestead! On Saturday, we went to a family reunion (my family) and had a blast. While he was putting The Gnome to bed that night, I found my new favorite way to relax – I mowed the backyard. It was heavenly. Just me and my iPod.
Sunday was fun! We got up early and moved the chicks out to the brooder in the shed. Oh! We got 17 new chicks on Thursday. I was planning on having them stay in the brooder in the shed but it’s been over 100 and they weren’t doing to well in the heat. So, softy that I am, I moved them into the bath tub in the master bathroom. So now there are 17 chickens living in our bathroom.
Anyway, we got up early and moved them back out to the shed so that Hubby could finish painting the bathroom. And he finished! All we have left is to reinstall the shower door and our 6 month bathroom remodel is finally done! FINALLY.
Our friends the Shelbys came over and brought us some wood for the new chicken coop we’ll have to build to house all of the new chicks and they left with some of the stuff we’ve been getting rid of (a bookshelf and some tea). We also talked a little bit about “Bringing Back The Village” (one week left!) and a having a two family garage sale in a couple of weeks. And then… they took Major Poppycock home with them. It had been time for awhile. He has been crowing, a lot, and we can’t have roosters. It was still a sad day though. We’ll miss you buddy.
I managed to clean out 3 more boxes of stuff from the kitchen and one from the laundry room too. I really feel like within the next 3 months, 100 items each may actually be an attainable goal. It is so refreshing to get rid of all of the stuff!
Hubby weed whacked the backyard and then mowed and weed whacked the front so we’re caught up there. Then I cut Hubby’s hair after The Gnome went to bed.
It feels good to get a lot accomplished.
